Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FormWire (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.
FormWire has two kinds of users, and we hold data for both: account holders (people who sign up and put our endpoint behind their forms) and form submitters (people who fill in a form on an account holder’s website). This policy covers each.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password (stored hashed, never in plain text). If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
- Form submissions. When someone submits a form pointed at our endpoint, we receive and store whatever the form sends (typically a name, an email address, and a message), together with technical metadata (timestamp, originating domain, and IP address, which we use for spam filtering and rate limiting).
- Usage data. We collect basic logs of interactions with the Service (API requests, dashboard activity) to operate, secure, and improve it.
How we use information
We use this information to run the Service: delivering submissions to verified recipient email addresses, storing them in your dashboard, filtering spam, enforcing plan limits, providing support, and sending you service emails about your account. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use form submission content for advertising or to train machine-learning models.
Where submission data lives
Form submissions belong to the account holder whose form received them. The dashboard shows submissions for the history window of the account holder’s plan; account holders can delete individual submissions at any time and can export their data. If you submitted a form on someone else’s website and want your data removed, the fastest route is contacting that website’s owner; you can also contact us and we will assist.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers required to operate FormWire: hosting infrastructure, email delivery, and payment processing. These providers act under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing those services. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Service. If FormWire is acquired or merged, data may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.
Cookies
The marketing site works without tracking cookies. The application uses cookies solely to keep you signed in.
Data retention & security
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request when you close it. Submission data follows your plan’s retention window. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS); data at rest is encrypted by our infrastructure providers. Uploaded file attachments are served from long, unguessable CDN URLs, so treat a submission’s attachment link as private to whoever holds it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Email us and we will honour these requests for data we control, and pass along requests that belong to an account holder.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders.
